Who We Are

Payra Social Welfare is a non-political, non-profit organization committed to uplifting underprivileged communities in Bangladesh. Our work focuses on supporting economically disadvantaged students, disaster relief, healthcare initiatives, and other social welfare activities.

Despite the progress of our beloved motherland, Bangladesh still faces challenges compared to developed nations. Issues like illiteracy, prejudice, poverty, lack of industrial opportunities, and inadequate infrastructure remain obstacles to national development. However, in the face of these struggles, we draw inspiration from real-life stories—children working as cobblers or rickshaw pullers to fund their education, selfless teachers sacrificing their wages to continue teaching, and kind-hearted individuals donating their savings for medical aid. These stories fuel our determination to create meaningful change.

Recognizing our social responsibility, a group of young students came together in 2011 with a shared vision of serving those in need. With our personal savings and collective efforts, Payra Social Welfare was officially founded on February 1, 2011, as a completely voluntary, non-profit, and non-political organization.

Our Mission

We believe that positive ethical change in individuals leads to the transformation of society and the nation. A well-educated and resourceful population is essential for achieving sustainable progress.

Our primary goal is to provide educational assistance to students who face financial hardships and to offer emergency volunteer support during national and natural disasters. Our dream is to build a well-educated, prosperous society, inspired by the selfless individuals who dedicate their lives to social service.

What We Do

Our work is focused on:

• Education Support: Providing financial assistance, scholarships, and study materials to underprivileged students, ensuring they continue their education without barriers.
• Health Programs: Offering free medical check-ups, blood group identification, and healthcare support to those in need.
• Disaster Management: Mobilizing volunteers to provide emergency aid and relief during natural disasters.
• Social Welfare Initiatives: Running awareness campaigns, organizing public service activities, and fostering a sense of social responsibility.

Achievements (Last 14 Years)

• 129 underprivileged students received financial aid and psychological support to sit for the S.S.C. examination.
• Established two-year education support from 9th grade to S.S.C. and additional assistance at the higher secondary level.
• Launched a free health program, including blood group identification and medical check-ups.
• Established a public newspaper board in Askar Kalibari Bazar to promote literacy and awareness.

Current & Future Projects

• Kinder Garden School: We plan to establish a school in Askar village, Agailjhara, Barisal, to provide quality early education.
• Modern Library: A community library at Askar Kalibari Bazaar to encourage reading and knowledge-sharing.
• Vocational School: A training center for street children in Dhaka, equipping them with skills for a better future.

Funding & Support

Currently, Payra Social Welfare operates through:

• Contributions from registered members, who donate by fasting for a day.
• Generous donations from kind-hearted individuals, supporting scholarships and program expenses.
